Thank you for observing National Donor Sabbath. We hope that you find the resource materials on this site helpful.

National Donor Sabbath is observed annually two weekends before Thanksgiving, from Friday through Sunday. This three-day observance seeks to include the days of worship for major religions practiced in the United States. During National Donor Sabbath, faith leaders from many religions, donor families, transplant recipients and donation and transplantation professionals participate in services and programs to educate the public about the need for the life-saving and healing gifts passed to others through transplantation, while encouraging all to register to become donors. It is easy to register in Arkansas by going to, or you can register at your local DMV office.

This year, we have added a new event called a Candlelight Meditation that allows anyone to observe National Donor Sabbath, regardless of faith tradition, or the absence of one. The Candlelight Meditation is very simple to host and can be done with a minimal of time and resources. Full step-by-step instructions can be found here.
