Thank you for observing National Donor Sabbath. We hope that you find the resource materials on this site helpful.

National Donor Sabbath is observed annually two weekends before Thanksgiving, from Friday through Sunday. This three-day observance seeks to include the days of worship for major religions practiced in the United States. During National Donor Sabbath, faith leaders from many religions, donor families, transplant recipients and donation and transplantation professionals participate in services and programs to educate the public about the need for the life-saving and healing gifts passed to others through transplantation, while encouraging all to register to become donors. It is easy to register in Arkansas by going to, or you can register at your local DMV office.

This year, ARORA is providing an e-packet containing sermons, readings, videos and more, that congregations may use and adapt to create an observance that meets their congregation needs regarding size, time limits, etc. Observance opportunities range from securing a guest speaker from ARORA, presenting a brief Candlelight Meditation to including a message in the congregational social media, program, message board or intranet.

All resources on this site may be used for your Donor Sabbath Observance. We have included sermons, suggested hymns, videos and much more to allow you to plan and hold your observance at your convenience. To access a video example of how to hold a Candlelight Meditation, plus other videos that you can show during your observance, go to and search for Donate Life Arkansas.  However, if you would like assistance with planning your Donor Sabbath observance, please contact us at
